Sticking to your New Year’s resolution can be a challenge, especially in the winter. There is nothing like snuggling with your 4-legged pal, watching Netflix, and looking out the window into the cold. It’s comforting, bonding, and makes you feel good! In fact, taking a break once in a while can be extremely rewarding and good for you! New Yorkers are always on the go so winter when comes, it can be a blessing in disguise. Sit back, relax, and enjoy it…but then get back to work- because you’re a New Yorker, and that’s what New Yorkers do!
Everyone loves (and needs) a good break once in a while- or once a year, but staying active in the winter months is equally as important. It may be cold out, which makes none of us want to move, but now that spring is on the horizon, it’s time to get up and go! The holidays are officially over. Time to shed that eggnog, haul the holly out of the way, and get shredded for spring. How you ask? Lucky for us, all of our fitness desires are an elevator ride or staircase away.
Along with our 75- foot indoor swimming pool, Club 7 offers your choice in state of the art amenities including: Cardio and weight training equipment, Yoga, aerobics, and Pilates equipment, studio classes, and a sauna to relax in (to keep the lazy day in vibes going). The club also offers specialized services including: nutritional counseling, massage therapy, personal training, and facials, to get you ready for the warmer seasons to come!
Nobody said it was going to be easy, but as a community of leaders that set goals and achieve them constantly, there is no reason not to take care of your body this winter. It is, after all, your most valuable asset. Why not follow through and live your absolute best life? Sound difficult? Baby steps are ok too. Here are some tips to get your started
1. Set a numbered goal and increase from there. Maybe you want stronger arms. Start at 20 push-ups a day for 100 days and increase from there! Taking the stairs is also a great way to get your body warmed up.
2.Don’t Snooze. Our alarms already shock us awake, and falling asleep and re-awakening 10 minutes later disrupts our sleep patterns and our hearts. Find ways to encourage your body to wake up the first time. Get that pre-coffee made, and go!
3. Buddy up. The Silver Towers community is filled with incredible, driven people who love meeting others. Why not say hello to your neighbor and hit the gym together?
4. Drink Water. Odds are, none of us drink enough water, especially in the winter. It’s important to stay hydrated to stay fit- even better if you drink a glass first thing in the morning!
5. Treat yourself. Whether it’s with a nice facial, or pastry from our very own Think Coffee, there’s no need to get down on yourself. Enjoy the winter and enjoy your life.
This may be the year to thrive on your ambition and we all have to start somewhere! Whether you are a gym enthusiast or just getting started, club 7 can help you reach your fitness goals. All you have to do is take the first step. See you there!
